SNG New Build for 2017: AmaKristina©

AmaWaterways newest river cruise vessel, AmaKristina, was christened earlier this year on May 10th in Lahnstein, Germany.  The river cruise ship is named after AmaWaterways’ co-owner and executive vice-president Kristin Karts.  As the cruise line celebrates its 15th anniversary, AmaKristina, AmaWaterways twentieth cruise vessel, joins her sister-ships AmaViola and AmaStella.

The 156-passenger ship will sail the Rhine River on 7-day voyages between Amsterdam and Basel, Switzerland.  With the growing popularity of families traveling on river cruises, similar to its sister-ships, the vessel features connecting cabins and triple occupancy staterooms tailored for families as well as larger groups sailing together.  Each cabin features USB outlets and a Mac desktop computer while guests staying in suites are provided iPads and a MacBook.

AmaKristina features twin balconies in most staterooms measuring 210-235 square feet with one French balcony – a large sliding glass door that opens to the outside, but does not provide any outdoor seating - and a full outside balcony.  Over half the vessel’s staterooms feature the two balconies.  The ship’s four suites measure 350 feet.  With fewer guests traveling, the vessel is allowed greater space for more expansive cabins.  Over half the vessel’s staterooms feature the two balconies; the four suites measuring 350 feet feature the French and outside balconies as well with a larger interior living area and washroom.

Voyages are highlighted by the inclusive shore exursions at each port of call.  Guided tours are offered at each port, but the staff is very accommodating in arranging personal or small-grouped tailored excurions. AmaKristina has a fleet of twenty-five bicycles for use by travelers at the given ports.  As river cruises have become more appealing to families and younger travelers, AmaWaterways is at the forefront of catering to the expaning river cruise sailing demographic.

The experienced staff of forty-nine all fluent in English hail from dozen countries.  The ship is scheduled to travel the Rhine River for its 7-day Amsterdam to Basel and Basel to Amsterdam sailings throughout the remainder of the year visiting Germany, Netherlands and Switzerland.  In 2018, itineraries add a round-trip cruise embarking and disembarking from Amsterdam with stops in Belgium and Netherlands through Dutch and Belgian Waterways.  Special Needs Group is pleased to provide service to AmaWaterways newest river cruise vessel, AmaKristina.
