Acid Reflux? The Optum-Align Mattress for Passengers at Sea
Special Needs Group is pleased to now provide the rental of the comfortable Optum-Align Mattress, so those sailing with acid reflux can comfortably sleep well while having one’s upper body elevated.
Please ensure of where the equipment is going to be delivered:
The Optum-Align is a solution to those traveling on a cruise with acid reflux, which requires millions to sleep with their upper body elevated. The specialized mattress was developed by a physician and meets the recommendation of the American College of Gastroenterology. Unlike bed wedges where the individual can slide down the slope of the wedge during a night’s sleep, the Optum-Align Mattress puts the guest in the best possible position for a comfortable sleeping experience.
The design keeps the individual’s head in an elevated position while providing support for his/her back and legs. The angle fits the individual’s body while allowing the guest to change sleep positions comfortably for a good night’s sleep.
The overall polyurethane performance of the high-quality mattress is enhanced through additives in the air cells applied in both the coating and lamination process which includes treatments and filters that enhance the physical characteristics; the special additives contain adhesion promoters, UV stabilizers, UV inhibitors, flame retardants, antioxidants and an ingredient that fights a variety of bacteria and fungi. The air chambers of the mattress are produced with radio frequency machines; the process gives the air chambers the strongest possible seam strength.
In addition to those with acid-reflux, the Optum-Align Mattress aids those who awake with a sore back. The mattress eliminates those awaking with back stiffness due to the individual’s back muscles being put in a relaxed position during sleep as his/her weight is spread evenly.
The mattress also benefits those with Obstructive Sleep Apnea; the Optum-Align inflates within seconds, placed on any bed and its firmness can be adjusted by a unique ultra-quiet remote control. The inflatable construction permits the guest to adjust the pressure so that it conforms to the individual’s body shape while providing necessary comfortable support for a restful night’s sleep.
Initially, the mattress will be offered to those sailing out of the Fort Lauderdale and Miami ports. For more information on renting the Optum-Align Mattress for a guest cruising out of Fort Lauderdale or Miami, please call 800-513-4515.
