Costa Cruises Accessibility: Cruising Italian Style for All
Special Needs at Sea proudly supports Costa Cruises in providing mobility services and accessible equipment for thousands of travelers each year.
Costa Cruises invites guests to experience “Cruising Italian Style,” blending the charm and hospitality of Italy with exciting itineraries and rich cultural moments — like the vibrant Festa Italiana at sea. As part of their inclusive approach, Costa ensures that guests with disabilities enjoy a safe, comfortable, and enriching cruise experience.
Wheelchair-Accessible Cabins on Costa Ships
Most Costa ships feature accessible staterooms. Among them, the following have the largest number:
- Costa Concordia, Costa Serena, Costa Pacifica: 29 accessible cabins
- Costa Fortuna, Costa Magica: 27 accessible cabins
While most ships offer accessible staterooms across multiple categories, Costa Allegra and Costa Romantica only provide Inside Singles. Features of accessible cabins include:
- Roll-in showers with grab bars
- Lowered sinks and handheld showerheads
- Accessible closet rods and shelves
- Fold-down shower stools and toilet risers available upon request
Shipwide Accessibility and Services
- Accessible seating in main dining areas and show lounges
- Embarkation and disembarkation assistance
- Accessibility orientation with Guest Relations at cruise start

Support for Blind or Low Vision Guests
Several Costa ships include Braille signage at cabin doors and elevator stations (e.g., Costa Atlantica, Concordia, Deliziosa, Fortuna, Luminosa, Magica, Mediterranea, Pacifica, Serena, Victoria). Newer ships also feature elevators that audibly announce floor numbers. Safety and general ship information is available at the information desk and through dedicated in-cabin TV channels.

- Assistive listening systems in main show lounges
