Paris, the capital of France, is a major European tourist destination. This city is known for its art, fashion, and culture. The Eiffel Tower is a global icon of France and is one of the most recognizable structures worldwide. To get to the top of the tower, you are able to climb the stairs or take the elevator. They also make it wheelchair accessible to the 1st and 2nd landings.     

             

 

Along with many other historic monuments, Paris is home to the largest art museum in the world, the Louvre Museum. There is about 38,000 objects exhibited from prehistory to the 21st century. The Louvre has had approximately 9.6 million visitors, making it the most visited museum in the world today. One of the most distinct pieces of artwork, which we should all be familiar with, is the Mona Lisa.

     

        

About 12 miles southwest of the center of Paris, you will find the famous Palace of Versailles. It was the royal residence of France until 1789. The palace is now a historical monument, home to the Hall of Mirrors, Royal Opera, and the Gardens of Versailles.

    

 

If you are interested in the well-renowned fashion in Paris, you may want to plan your trip around Paris Fashion Week. It is part of the four global fashion weeks in the world. A series of designers host their shows in historical venues all over Paris.
