Miramar and West Park, Florida

Located about a half an hour southwest of Port Everglades and Ft. Lauderdale International Airport, the cities of Miramar and West Park are focused on family fun.  There is an abundance of activities available that are suitable for every member of your family.

One of the featured attractions in Miramar is the Miramar Regional Park.  It has amenities galore!  You can play a number of sports including volleyball, baseball, cricket, soccer, and football.  You can enjoy swimming and a kiddie splash area at the Aquatic Complex or take in a concert at the open-air Pavilion.  In addition, you can enjoy standard park activities such as picnics, playgrounds and bike rides.

For more artistic entertainment, check out the Miramar Cultural Center/ArtsPark.  You can see a live performance of a show or ballet, wander around the Ansin Family Art Gallery, or the botanical garden.

For a great bird-watching opportunity, go to Snake Warrior’s Island Natural Area.  This habitat is part of the Great Florida Birding and Wildlife Trail.

All these locations are accessibility-friendly and more information about each location can be found on their websites.
