Hillsoboro Beach & Lighthouse Point, Florida

Hillsboro Beach and Lighthouse Point are all about the long history of living on the ocean.  There are so many water activities to participate in that there is something for everyone.  You can charter a sailboat to get that “wind in your hair” feeling.  If you like the idea of catching your dinner, you can take advantage of one of the many fishing boat charters around.

There are lots of dive shops if you’d prefer to see the underwater life “up close and personal”, too.

If you like even more heart-pounding excitement, you might try your hand a kite-surfing!

If you aren’t an adrenaline junkie or you want to take a break from all the exhilaration, take some time to shell the beach or just relax as the warm Florida sunshine takes your cares away.

After all this activity, you can head over to Cap’s Place restaurant.  It’s the area’s oldest commercial establishment and was built as a speakeasy, rum running, and gambling house in 1928.  The buildings are all original to the period and the decorations and photos are reflective of the history.  The restaurant is built on an island and is accessible by shuttle boats.
